The seventh edition of the ALB  Korea Law Awards, held on Nov. 15 at Conrad Seoul, once again proved to be a grand success as it showcased the best of the country’s legal industry.

Kim & Chang walked away with six awards, the biggest haul of the night. The titles included the big one of the Refinitiv Award Korea Law Firm of the Year, along with the Korea Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year and the Managing Partner of the Year (for Kye Sung Chung).

Meanwhile, Shin & Kim and Lee & Co won four awards a piece. Shin & Kim’s wins included the Dealmaker of the Year (for Tong-Gun Lee) and Woman Lawyer of the Year (for Helen Pak), while Lee & Co was the winner of the Korea Deal Firm of the Year and Labour and Employment Law Firm of the Year, among others.

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett was named as the International Deal Firm of the Year, while LAB Partners was feted as the Boutique Law Firm of the Year.

In the individual categories, Bae, Kim & Lee’s John P. Bang was named the Dispute Resolution Lawyer of the Year, while Jay Im of Netflix Korea won the Foreign Lawyer of the Year award.

Among the in-house categories, Samsung SDS picked up the LAB Partners Award Korea In-House Team of the Year. McDonald’s Korea was named as the Innovative In-House Team of the Year, while Byoungrae Lee of SK Holdings was named the In-House Lawyer of the Year.
