Voon Keat Lai, managing partner for Greater China, and partner Ivy Wong have left Stephenson Harwood in Hong Kong to join local boutique M.B. Kemp, which was set up in September by two other former partners of the UK firm.

Lai, who spent nearly 23 years at Stephenson Harwood, joins MB Kemp as managing partner. He focuses on international corporate finance, M&A, commercial contracts and technology.

Meanwhile, Wong specialises in corporate finance, IPO, M&A, and capital markets.

MB Kemp was launched as a dispute resolution and insolvency specialist firm in September by Malcolm Kemp and Yeeling Wan, former partners of Stephenson Harwood.

Following the additions of Lai and Wong, M.B. Kemp now has seven lawyers.
