Mori Hamada & Matsumoto has announced that Keichi Tadaki will join the firm as special counsel effective October 1. Mr. Tadaki joins the firm from the Supreme Public Prosecutors Office where he was Prosecutor-general. Prior to this he was with the Tokyo High Public Prosecutors Office where he was superintending prosecutor.
Tadaki played an integral role in formulating policies for many of the major reforms of Japan’s legal system, including the establishment of the Japanese jury system.
The Japanese government has appointed Toshiaki Hiwatari as Tadaki’s replacement.
Hiwatari had been superintending prosecutor at the Tokyo High Public Prosecutors Office since December 2006.
