Indian firm Khaitan & Co has boosted its New Delhi partnership with the appointment of corporate lawyer Gauri Rasgotra, who has rejoined the firm after spending two years in the US as the head of the India Studies Centre at the George Washington Law School.
Rasgotra – who acted as the administrator and director of Indian activities at the centre designed to promote US-India legal relations – said her experience in the US has enriched her perspective of work. “It was a big decision to leave my practice as a lawyer with a prestigious Delhi firm and come to the land to which many flock to fulfil their dreams,” she wrote in an opinion piece in an Indian paper. “One can understand a country best not when visiting or even when studying there, but when working with the people of that country.”
At Khaitan & Co, Rasgotra returns to advise on litigation, corporate and IP legal matters.
