DLA Piper has appointed former Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer partner, Bob Charlton, to head its 260-strong EMEA finance and projects practice from 14 September. Charlton was at Clifford Chance for over 20 years, before moving to Freshfields where he was recently in Riyadh to head the Saudi Arabian office and the Middle East and North Africa finance practice.
Based in London, Charlton will take charge of developing DLA Piper’s finance and projects group strategy and market position.
DLA Piper recently announced its revenues for 2008, with its EMEA and Asia offices amassing £584.9m. The firm’s Middle East offices have had a shaky year in the downturn, following two rounds of redundancies which led to seventeen fee earners cut in Dubai.
