Hong Kong-based lawyer Suhaimi Lazim has been recruited as a foreign counsel in Azmi & Associates’ international law division, specialising in Singapore law.
Suhaimi, a former partner at Shook Lin & Bok, will assist in developing best practices for the firm’s clients in their investments and projects in Southeast Asia, especially Malaysia. He will also advise internal lawyers on Singapore laws and conduct seminars and workshops for the public.
Managing partner Azmi Mohd Ali said that the appointment will help its foreign clients. “There has been an increase in foreign instructions to the firm. We do intend to increase our volume of business coming from overseas.”
Azmi & Associates, one of the ALB Fast 30 firms 2008, recently launched its international law division, following the appointment of United States lawyer Michael Doyle as advisor.
