Last year many law firms across the Asia and Middle East regions were forced to re-think the nature of their billing and fee structures, as sophisticated legal departments placed pressure on them for innovative ways to deliver economical legal advice.
This year, as the cogs towards the global economic recovery slowly begin to turn, it has never been more important to keep law firms in the region up to date on the wants and needs of in-house counsel, in the ALB In-house survey 2010.
Last year’s survey found that for most legal departments, the responsiveness and turnaround time of external counsel was the most important criteria in choosing a law firm, followed by flexibility in firm’s billing arrangements.
The survey also canvassed the changing nature of in-house legal function: significantly more legal departments were outsourcing legal work; some were reducing use of both international and domestic firms, and most importantly, over 32% of legal departments said that legal budgets was almost halved in the space of one year.
In-house legal practitioners can let external counsel know what they want from them in the most highly anticipated annual survey of its kind – ALB In-house Survey 2010.
