Charles (“Charlie”) Wilson is the new counsel in White & Case’s Singapore office. Wilson joins White & Case from Linq Asia Capital AG, a specialist finance group with offices in Singapore and headquarters in Zurich, where he was a member of the senior management team. Wilson is well acquainted with the team at White & Case as he has instructed White & Case on previous transactions.
Wilson brings with him experience on restructuring, structured finance, private equity and M&A matters. He will be working with a number of partners across the M&A and finance practices of White & Case and focusing on Indonesian related matters.
Wilson has wide, hands-on experience with Indonesian transactions and this has been enhanced by his time with Sampoerna, an Indonesian tobacco company, where he advised on investments, acquisitions, sales and debt raising.
Earlier this year White & Case advised on the first debt-for-nature swap in Indonesia and advised the sellers on a US$72.5m cross-border sale of PT Seamless Pipe Indonesia Jaya, a leading casing and tubing processor and the sellers on a US$326m sale of a 56% stake in Bentoel Internasional Investama, Indonesia’s fourth largest cigarette maker, to British American Tobacco.
