The website of Allens Arthur Robinson was the most visited law firm website in Australia for 2010, according to statistics compiled by Hitwise. This is the eighth consecutive year that Allens have secured this title, which is based on market share of internet traffic and is the subject of some rivalry between the top firms.
Allens' director of marketing and client services, David McClune, said that over the past year the firm had increased its focus on social media and blogs as drivers of traffic to its website and has optimised the site for mobile phones and iPads.
When ALB last investigated this issue in early 2010, communications managers at top tier firms said that the more common uses of their website included prospective employees researching the firm and prospective clients viewing partner profiles to assess their experience. Traffic was said to spike when firms conducted recruitment campaigns.
