Singapore firm Lee & Lee has added four new associates to its corporate division in response to the growing demand for capital markets, M&A and privatisation work, according to the firm.
The appointments of Angelina Chia (joins from Kelvin Chia Partnership), and former Lee & Lee interns Low Zhi Ni, Lee Ben-Jie and Jeremy Lin bring the total number of new associate additions this month to nine; with the corporate division growing to 25 and taking its total headcount to approximately 80 partners and associates.
“Previous market hesitation has been replaced by a tremendous spike in M&A deals being struck through the first quarter of the year,” said senior partner and head of corporate Adrian Chan.
Chan also expects to see more privatisation work in the Lion City in the coming months. The firm is currently acting for Evaplas, a Singapore- based electronics supplier for Hewlett Packard, on its recent privatisation as well as the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy Group on a potential private equity investment.
It has also advised the Golden Ocean Group’s dual listing on both the Singapore and the Oslo Stock Exchanges (the first such partnership between the two countries).
“Privatisation is the buzz word here and there is a growing amount of corporate work to be done,” Chan said.
