A second Freehills workplace relations expert, Joanna Glynn, is moving to Corrs as partner in the firm’s Brisbane workplace relations practice. In February, partner John Tuck left Freehlls and moved to the firm’s Melbourne office to beef up that arm of the practice.
Glynn brings with her 17 years experience in both IR and employment law, having previously worked for the Queensland Mining Council in a senior IR related role. Her experience is considered a perfect fit for the Corrs workplace relations team, which frequently advises the mining and energy and resources sectors - most recently Macarthur Coal Limited on the $640m sell-down of its Codrilla coal project to participants in the Coppabella and Moorvale Joint Venture.
Glynn's practice experience covers all aspects of IR, employment law, discrimination and OH&S. She has also worked on electricity and coal mining sector disputes, conducted prominent test cases under the Fair Work Act and devised strategies for various significant Greenfield and Brownfield projects in Queensland. This is in addition to giving advice to boards and senior management on senior executive issues. Key clients for Glynn at Freehills included LNG and mining companies, utilities and electricity generators, financial institutions and government owned corporations and councils.
Glynn started with Corrs in the last week of May. She is also partner for the second time, having returned to Freehills as executive counsel following parental leave.
The Corrs workplace relations team now consists of nine partners nationwide.
