The Tokyo office of Ropes & Gray has appointed Maxwell Fox as partner and member of its IP practice, the 12th appointment for the firm since opening in Tokyo in 2007.

Fox was lured from his position as co-head of litigation at Paul Hastings. His appointment will help build up the firm’s global presence as its client base increasingly becomes international.

Ropes & Gray was the winner of the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Deal of the Year at the ALB Japan Law Awards 2009.
