Walkers has appointed the current head of its insolvency and corporate recovery group, Guy Locke, to the flagship role of head of Asia to meet increased demand in the area. Locke specialises in corporate restructuring and contentious insolvency as well as matters arising out of distressed investment vehicles.
Concurrently, the firm has made Carol Hall (pictured), the current head of its investment funds group in Hong Kong, the new managing partner of that office. Hall will replace long-time incumbent Hugh O'Loughlin, who will depart in the summer to lead the firm's Jersey office and the expansion of its corporate group into Europe.
In Jersey, the firm has also effected two new lateral hires. Nigel Weston will join the firm from Mourant du Feu & Jeune as partner and co-head of the finance and corporate group, while Neil McDonald comes on board from the London office of Slaughter and May as an associate in the same group.
