HSBC has announced the promotion of deputy GC Bridget Powell to the GC role in Australia. In her new role, Powell will be responsible for the legal and compliance teams and the company secretariat, and will serve as a member of HSBC's executive committee. Powell has worked at HSBC for ten years.
There have been several significant GC appointments in recent months including the appointment of Blake Dawson's David Williamson to the top legal role at BHP and AAR's Paul Meadows at Wesfarmers.
