AAR and Freehills have advised on the A$191m sale of the South Australian Mt Millar wind farm from Transfield Services Infrastructure Fund to New Zealand based Meridian Energy, which continues its steady acquisition of Australian renewable energy assets. AAR's Anna Collyer advised Meridian and Freehills' Philippa Stone and Tony Sparks advised Transfield.
As part of a broader review of operations, Transfield also undertook a A$110 capital raising, for which it took advice from Freehills. This continues the relationship between Transfield and Freehills which dates back to the company's 2007 IPO. It is interesting to note that both Freehills and AAR were also involved in last month's A$740 deal to develop, construct and operate West Australia's Collgar Wind Farm. Minter Ellison was also involved in that deal.
