Mayer Brown JSM has promoted Hong Kong-based competition lawyer Gerry O’Brien to consultant in its antitrust and competition practice.
O’Brien, who has worked with Mayer Brown JSM for almost four years, has considerable experience in advising clients on compliance with Hong Kong and Chinese anti-competition laws. His expertise also includes Chinse Anti-Monopoly provisions, and advising on merger control within Chinese antitrust regulations.
Before joining Mayer Brown JSM, he worked as a competition lawyer with Australian firm Mallesons Stephen Jacques, and later worked in-house advising telecommunications company Telstra on anti-competition and anti-trust legislation.
O’Brien, a law graduate from Monash University, is admitted to legal practice in both Hong Kong and Victoria, Australia.ALB
