Mallesons Stephen Jaques' long-standing relationship with Allco Finance Group paved the way for the firm to land the role as Allco's legal advisor on its A$575m Singapore REIT.
The Australian company has a number of assets in both Australia and Singapore invested in the REIT. These include a 50% interest in the Central Park Office Building in Perth and the total ownership of the China Central complex in Singapore.
Melbourne-based property specialist Andrew Erikson led the Mallesons team. Colin Ng & Partners provided local Singaporean counsel.
"We are one of a number of firms who do work for Allco, and have acted for them previously on IPO's and property transactions," said Mallesons partner Tim Blue, a Sydney-based securities specialist.
"Our experience in the Singapore REIT market, cross border expertise and Hong Kong office were all factors in landing this role."
Mallesons has acted on a number of REITs previously in Singapore. This includes representing Macquarie Bank as the financial sponsor and 50% owner of the A$745m Prime REIT last year.
