Premier industry event The Macallan ALB Hong Kong Law Awards has named chief executive of Hong Kong Exchanges (HKEx) and Clearing, Charles Li, as well as Bar Council chairman of the Hong Kong Bar Association, Russell Coleman SC, as its guests of honour this year.

The prestigious awards, which recognise the most outstanding lawyers, firms and in-house legal departments and practitioners across North Asia,  is the culmination of months of intensive research and is attended by Hong Kong's leading investment bankers, solicitors, in house counsel, barristers, judiciary and business leaders at the black-tie event to be held on 10 September and is now in its ninth successful year. 

Charles Li has been handpicked as its guest of honour for his illustrious career in both the financial services and legal sectors. Li joined the HKEx in January this year as its chief executive. He was previously chairman of JP Morgan Chase China and was also president of Merrill Lynch China.

Similarly accomplished,Russell Coleman SC is a Chartered Arbitrator and a past President of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators. He is also a Council Member of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC).
