Jones Day has appointed corporate generalist Rika Sato as a partner in Tokyo, where she will help develop the firm's dispute resolution and corporate practices. She joins from Asahi Law Offices, suffering losses during its merger with Nishimura & Partners.
Sato has experience in domestic and foreign matters involving business restructuring and insolvency, corporate acquisition, employment law, and dispute resolution including litigation. She has also provided general corporate advice to local and foreign clients.
Partner-in-charge of Jones Day's Tokyo office John Roebuck says Sato's experience in dispute resolution, including international litigation and arbitration, as well as corporate law, in areas such as employment and bankruptcy, will enhance the firm's offering.
