HK: Skadden beefs up corporate team with partner, counsel promotions

Skadden has strengthened its Hong Kong corporate offering with the promotion of Li-Chien Wong to the global partnership and two additional counsel promotions.
Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, Wong has been admitted to practice in several jurisdictions including Singapore, Malaysia, UK and Hong Kong. She concentrates on representing clients in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions. She has advised international companies and represented issuers and underwriters in a vast number of IPO transactions. Landmark deals she has acted on include the Wynn-Macau US$1.87bn IPO; the Mongolian Mining US$747m IPO and the Bluestar Adisseo US$1.56bn Hong Kong IPO.
Other significant deals Wong also advised on include China CITIC Bank Corporation's US$5.4bn dual-listed initial public offering in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Included in the current round of promotions were Hong Kong-based corporate lawyers Adam Cheng and Robert Graffum who were both appointed to the role of counsel. Cheng joined the Hong Kong office of Skadden, Arps in July 2006 and represents corporate clients, investment banks and private equity funds on various corporate transactions. Cheng most recently advised the Huaneng Group in its proposed acquisition of a 50% equity stake in InterGen. Graffum was a graduate of Harvard Law School. He received his J.D. in 2002.ALB
