The Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra and Perth offices of Dibbs Abbott Stillman have announced a change of name, with the firm to be now known as DibbsBarker, effective immediately.
The firm has signalled its intention to renew its focus on particular industry sectors and to distance itself from the "bigger is better" culture. "It's not about how big you are anymore. It's about how good you are," said Sydney managing partner Alan McArthur, citing the consumer goods, medical/pharmaceutical, banking, finance and property sectors as particular areas of strength for his firm.
The Melbourne arm of predecessor firm Dibbs Abbott Stillman is now part of Thomson Playford Cutlers, an arrangement which came into formal effect yesterday.
