After working for Henry Davis York (HDY) for 20 years and more recently as its managing partner for the past ten years, Stephen Purcell decided that he wanted a break and left the firm last June. ALB recently caught up with him to discover that he has been appointed as chief executive officer of recovery and forensics consulting firm PPB.
After Purcell departed HDY Steve Parbery, one of the founding partners of PPB, contacted him to see if he was interested in joining. "I have known Steve for about 15 years and PPB itself as one of HDY's clients. I was looking for something different and decided to join PPB as it offered new challenges", said Purcell.
PPB also provides Purcell with a new environment to apply his leadership skills and experience acquired from running HDY. "In my previous role I grew HDY with a strong emphasis on people strategy and client service. I intend to adopt a similar approach at PPB", he said.
Purcell's timing looks to be remarkably good as an upswing in insolvency and restructing work is occurring, with some firms predicting to have enough work to last through this year into next.
