Corporate, securities and M&A lawyer Jeff Greene has been transferred from DLA Piper's Seattle office, where he was a partner, to Shanghai. The firm said in a statement the move was to meet growing client demand for M&A talent in China.
As a specialist in cross-border M&A, particularly in advising high technology and emerging growth companies, Greene is expected to help drive DLA Piper's China practice. Greene has led cross-border M&A transactions in Australia, China, Germany, India, South Korea, the UK and elsewhere. His practice has also included public and private debt and equity offerings, private equity and venture capital.
"Jeff's experience leading M&A transactions around the world will add value for clients in China and companies from abroad which are entering the market," said DLA Piper's Shanghai managing partner Roy Chan.
The news follows a recent Akin Gump raid on DLA Piper in Beijing, which saw corporate partner Janet Jie Tang and a three-person transactions team leave DLA.
