India's largest spenders on external legal services have jumped at the opportunity to take part in focused practice area workshops, panel discussions and social networking functions.
A host of the country's leading corporations, together with multinational corporations such as Unilever and Nestlé, have already signed up to appear as guest presenters at the "ALB In-house Legal Summit India 2003', with many more showing interest.
The prestigious event, to be held on the 16th and 17th of October at Mumbai's Hyatt Regency Hotel and organised by ALB publishers Key Media, is a unique annual forum tailored exclusively to the needs of in-house teams at India's leading corporates.
The Summit will open with a keynote address by India's Assistant Solicitor General, RN Trivedi, followed by a number of plenary sessions. The panel discussion, shortly after on Day One, is likely to be one of the highlights, providing an exclusive opportunity to interact with the Heads of Legal at corporations such as Tata, Satyam Computers, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, Unilever India and Nestlé India.
The focused workshop sessions, organised and presented by a limited and exclusive group of India's most prestigious law firms, provide leading in-house counsel and business leader delegates with access to the very latest developments across a range of practice areas.
Firms that have signed up to present a workshop include India's first, second and fourth largest - Fox Mandal (IT outsourcing), Amarchand Mangaldas (corporate governance) and Crawford Bayley & Co (M&A), respectively, as well as Advani & Co (arbitration).
But it won't all be work. Networking opportunities are aplenty, with cocktail parties, dinners and leisure activities - including the ALB Legal Masters Golf Tournament - providing a more relaxed environment for collaboration.
