总部位于北京的通商律师事务所和德恒律师事务所按金额在2009上半年亚太地区（日本除外）并购法律顾问排名中上升到前两名。这标志着中国律所首次在类似法律顾问排行中名列榜首。
据Mergermarket统计，在2009年前6个月，通商和德恒分别代理了总价值达200亿美元和190亿美元的并购交易。两家律所分列Mergermarket 2009上半年年亚太地区（日本除外）并购排行榜（按金额）的前两名。排行榜中其他唯一一家中国律所海问律师事务所，按数量排名第19位。该所代理了八项交易总价值达46亿美元。
Mergermarket数据还显示，2009年第二季度亚太地区（日本除外）共宣布462项交易，与前一季度相比上升11%。过去5个季度该地区所呈现出的下降趋势似乎已经结束。中国律所的强劲表现在很大程度上归功于中国地区并购交易的活跃，2009年上半年其全球所占份额按总额和数量计算，分别从2008年的5.8％和5.4％增加到了8.3％和7.4％。
