Offshore firm Appleby has advised Media Chinese Investment Limited on its additional primary listing on the Main Board of the Malaysian stock exchange.
 

The company has become the first to have dual primary listings in both Hong Kong and Malaysia, as well as being the first offshore company listed in Malaysia.

The other firms involved were Simmons & Simmons, which acted as Hong Kong counsel for Media Chinese International Limited, and Zaid Ibrahim & Co, which acted as Malaysian counsel for Sin Chew 
Media Corporation Berhad and Nanyang Press Holdings Berhad.

Prior to the Malaysian listing of Media Chinese Investment Limited, Appleby also acted for the company in relation to its merger with two Malaysian listed companies, Sin Chew Media Corporation Berhad and Nanyang Press Holdings Berhad, which was effected on 23 April 2008.
