Allbright Law Offices has advised US dot.com company Altavista in its domain name battle in China.
Altavista filed a lawsuit when it discovered that 'Altavista.com.cn' and 'Altavista.cn' had been registered as a domain name in China. The suit was eventually withdrawn as a result of juvenility of the conditions.
Attorney Chen Naiwei led an Allbright team that filed the suit at China Economy and Trade Arbitration Committee, forcing the defendant to transfer the domain name to Altavista.
One of the largest dot.com companies in the world, Altavista has a staff about 250 people and is headquartered in California. Its AltaVista engine is known among netizens as one of the largest engines in the world.
In a separate development, Allbright Law Offices has assisted Jiangjing Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd on its listing on the Shenzhen stock exchange.
Partners Zhang Xiaohong and Xu Chunhui led the Allbright team on the deal, which lasted three years.
The Shenzhen stock exchange is a mutualised stock exchange and has 215 members nationwide.
