Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom has acted on one of Thailand's largest capital markets deals of the year, advising the Thai Oil Public Company on its US$350m Regulation S offering of notes.
Baker & Mckenzie acted as local counsel, with Clifford Chance acting for the trustee and Shearman & Sterling LLP representing the lead managers and bookrunners, ABN Amro and UBS Limited.
Hong-Kong based Jonathon Stone led the Skadden team on the deal along with London partner James Healy, while their Shearman counterparts were Hong Kong based partner Matthew Bersani and London partner Peter King.
Stone said the deal went through "on a pretty quick time-table", taking only six weeks to complete.
This deal follows hot on the heels of Skadden's role as international counsel to the project company in the historic Thai Oil IPO last year, which was the largest ever Thailand IPO and was recognized as the cross border equity deal of 2004 at the ALB Deals of the Year Southeast Asia earlier this year.
