Private equity fund Carlyle Group turned to Sullivan & Cromwell on its recent financial services acquisition in China.

Partner William Chua led the team on the purchase of an equity interest in Credit Orienwise - a loan guarantor for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Tao Jin at Jun Hen advised Carlyle on PRC law. On the other side of the negotiating table, Orienwise turned to a Baker & McKenzie team let by partner Elsa Chan.

Conyers Dill & Pearman and Appleby Spurling Hunter acted as Orienwise's Cayman and BVI counsel respectively.
