Latham on Greenfield Korean wind farm project

Latham & Watkins has represented BNP Paribas as lender in connection with the financing of South Korea's Youngduk Wind Power Project in North Kyongsang.
The 39.6 MW Youngduk Wind Power Project is Korea's first private wind farm and its largest wind farm project to date. Youngduk is also the first wind farm to be project financed in Asia.
The project is supported by guarantees and loans from Eksport Kredit Fonden (Denmark) and KEMCO (Korea). The financing documents were signed on 9 September.
Latham & Watkins Singapore partner Joseph Bevash and associate Stephen McWilliams led the firms team, which included associate John Mackay, foreign legal consultant Monisha Kamdar and Tokyo office associate Joseph Kim.
