Clifford Chance has appointed Hong Kong partner Martin Rogers as a member of its revamped partnership council, the board which supervises the firm’s executive management. The revamped council has been reduced by five partners from last year’s 12-partner team, reportedly following a review of its corporate governance structure.
Rogers will serve a three-year term on the council, alongside six other London, New York and Frankfurt-based partners. Two partners – Jeroen Koster and Thomas Schulte – have had their terms extended by another two years.
According to the firm, Rogers’ role on the council will involve monitoring “the performance of the management committee and its members, to ensure that the firm is managed in a way that is fair to all partners; to safeguard the reputation of the firm and to organise votes and elections required under the partnership agreement.”
