Fried Frank's Hong Kong managing partner, Huen Wong, has been appointed president of the Law Society of Hong Kong. He will lead the 20-member Council which is a professional body of solicitors in Hong Kong vested with the statutory powers to regulate the professional conduct of solicitors.
Wong succeeds Lester G. Huang and takes up his position as president with immediate effect. Prior to becoming president, Huen Wong served in the Council of the Law Society of Hong Kong as a member for nine years, five of which as Vice President. He has been managing partner of Fried Frank's Hong Kong office since it opened at the end of 2006 and will continue to serve in this role alongside his presidency.
